Casting Alloy and Process Selector (CAPS) v1.0

The Casting Alloy and Process Selector (CAPS) has been developed by the American Foundry Society (AFS) and Product Development & Analysis based on best known data and practices for North American metalcasters. To help select a casting process for your component, please enter the weight, section thickness and/or surface finish requirements of your new casting design in the unit specified in the tool tips for each textbox. Annual volume requirements (in number of pieces) and maximum length for the expected tolerance are optional input fields. If you know the alloy, please choose from the drop down alloy selector menu otherwise proceed with the search by clicking on the search button. For more information on how to use CAPS, please click the Help menu button. If you have any questions, contact AFS Customer Service at 800/537-4237.
